Projects

In addition to our ongoing work with the school children and their families, we have a number of specific projects. These include the following:

Peduli Rice Kitchen

Rice Kitchen- We became aware that the children were coming to school without any food - which is affecting their schoolwork and health. To help with this, we are setting up a rice kitchen to provide a nutritious breakfast for the children. Our first rice kitchen will be set up in Seraya (Karangasem in eastern Bali), and following that we hope to extend this program to other schools.

Peduli School

School Buildings Upgrade - At the school in Seraya, we are in the process of tiling the classroom floors. Already half the rooms have been completed, and we anticipate completing this project by the end of 2008. Following that, we plan to get the walls painted and glass in the windows.

Peduli Outing

Orphanage Outings - An ongoing project is that we take out groups of children from different orphanages. We give them a party treat that they might not otherwise get to participate in.

COMPLETED PROJECTS

We have now completed the school in Seraya Project, all classrooms have been tiled, painted, windows replaced with glass and doors on. The roof has been completed and they have new desks and stools.

We will move to another school to upgrade.

Rice Project.

We gave every child in the school 10kg of rice per months from April to July, unfortunally we run out of money so could not continue this project, if anyone would like to donate so we can continue this project.

We have just completed installing a water tap into a village in Seraya, by doing this save the villagers having to walk 5 km each day to collect water.

NEW PROJECTS:

To install septic tanks in the village which will then enable them to have a toilet.

Sew up a small sewing business for the village, we have been donated sewing machines, materials etc for this.
